This is a traditional Chinese fortune-telling system called Four Pillars of Destiny. The essence is that the Chinese calendar is a calendar of elements. So any information about time - Year, Month, Day and Hour, once converted into the Chinese calendar, can be expressed in terms of elements. Hence by looking at a person's Chinese birthday, we can immediately understand the elemental composition of a person's destiny, and the interaction of the five elements in a persons birthday can reveal his destiny in full detail.

Let us examine President Bush's birthday. He was born on a day of yin metal sitting on fire. So he is defined as a Yin metal person. It is worthy to note that this birth day - Yin metal on fire snake, is exactly the same as the current year 2001, which is also Yin metal sitting on Snake. What does it mean? It reflects he is the person in focus in 2001. Not only him, two other person in focus this year also were born on the same Yin metal snake day. One is Osama Bin Laden, the other is Angelina Joli. Do you agree these 3 people occupied the front cover of most magazines this year?

Yang metal is compare to metal for making weapon. Yin metal is considered as decorative metal and refers to jewelery metal, like necklace, bracelet, ear-rings. So Yin metal people are normally gentle, moderate and graceful.

The Day element on top - called Heavenly Stem, represents the person himself. The other elements represent his surrounding and people related to him. Now let us examine these elements surrounding President Bush and see what they symbolise.

On the year pillar, there is a Fire element, as fire conquers metal, it refers to some kind of control, pressure, and discipline onto the metal person. So this fire represents Power, with such strong fire showing up in the Year, obviously it shows a powerful man, a man of high status and discipline. This fire is very strong, as it is supported by 2 more fire element at the bottom, and President Bush is born in summer, adding strength to the fire. So his Destiny really shows he is a very powerful man, suitable to be in politics.

Another element appearing on top is the wood in the month pillar. Wood is an object conquered by the self element - metal. So wood symbolises material gains and achievements. In other words, it is money. With money showing up, it means he also has business and commercial sense. But this wood is not very significant compared with the fire, and no matter how strong is the wood, it still supports fire. As such, Fire power is still dominating, hence is more into politics than into business. The wood under metal attack in this year 2001 also reflects difficulty in money - i.e. the US economy.

The Water element appearing in the hour is an element produced by metal, this represents his creativity and skill. The remaining are the 2 earth elements at the bottom of the year pillar and the hour pillar. Earth is the producer and supporter of metal. So we call this pair of earth elements his resources - it also refers to his knowledge, education, ideas.

After understanding the meaning of all his elements, we can see President Bush's destiny is dominated by Fire, which means power, status, and discipline. And this is exactly what he is today.

Being a metal person surrounded by very strong fire, the metal is considered weak and needs support. The best support should come from earth, and more metal is also helpful.
Fire can support earth, so not always bad. But the nature of fire is to destroy metal, so if fire is too heavy, it will definitely create pressure to President Bush. These means that if he has more earth and metal in his life, he will feel easier and comfortable - in good luck. On the other hand, the remaining elements - water and wood and fire, does not help the metal but exhaust its strength, is not comfortable for him. Identifying what element is good and what element is bad is a essential step in analysing a persons Four Pillars of Destiny. The ideas is, if a person encounter plenty of his favourable elements in his luck, he will enjoy good fortune, otherwise, if he experiences bad elements in his luck, then he will have tough time.

The series of elements written under the birthday is called luck pillars. It is a series of elements that a person has to pass through in the passage of life. A person's life is divided in to ten year stages, during each ten year, the person will be under the influence of a pair of elements. If the elements are favourable, then it means good luck, or vise versa.

Now let us examine President Bush's luck. Since childhood, he has experienced good luck, with the support of earth and metal from one year old to 41 year old. There after, some water influence came, meaning he has to face more challenges. And at the present age of 55, he is into a strong water luck, which is tough.

What is water, we have discussed that water symbolise intelligence to President Bush. But as he is weak metal, water is exhausting his energy. So this element actually reflect he is into a very challenging time in his life. He has to show his intelligence and skill and his wits all the time, and this is not easy as water is not his favourable element and it will exhaust his metal self. At the same time, we see the water is in clash with his strong fire in the month pillar, meaning his power is under challenge. Such situation will be happening all through this water luck, which will last until he is 61 year old, when he will enter a more supportive luck of metal and earth. As such, the constant clash between fire and water will be dominating his period of Presidency. It will also mean USA, under his leadership, will also experience such challenging time.

2000, the year of the Dragon, is a strong metal and earth year. Hence President Bush gained strength from the year and won the Presidency. 2001, metal snake, with snake fire attacking the metal. So already the heavy pressure is onto him. And this climaxed on the day 11th September, which is a fire day on a fire month launching an attack on President Bush's metal. Being attacked by fire, he has to use his skill and intelligence to fight back( water). And water will be strongest in winter, so we expect President Bush will take more aggressive actions in winter - November, December of 2001.

Looking forward to 2002. It is the year of the Horse, with water sitting on fire. This Horse is very strong fire and it will not relieve the heavy pressure from President Bush's shoulder. So it will be another challenging year. However, this Horse does not directly clash in to President Bush's Four Pillars of Destiny, but the clash is against his current luck of the water Rat. This reflects continual skirmishes, but mostly in countries outside the USA. In other parts of the world. If this anaylsis is correct, President Bush will be more comfortable in 2003, when the supportive earth returns in the year of the Goat.

The analysis of President Bush will not be complete without mentioning Saddam Hussein of Iraq. Many expect President Bush may complete the task unfinished by his father in the Gulf war of 1991.

Looking at Saddam Husseins Four Pillars, he is a gentleman of weak wood, he is also threatened by the metal this year. Being wood, he will generate fire to protect himself against the metal attack - meaning that he may also be into an aggressive mood in the fire years of 2001 and 2002. But this will only stir up trouble for himself as he is into an unfavourable luck of earth, which supports the metal, does not support the wood. So in the near future, there couldl also be clashes between USA and Iraq bringing ultimate defeat of Saddam Hussien.
